Cric Lounge VR

“Cric Lounge” was a pitch created for  a subsidiary of a prominent sports channel in the country who had the broadcast rights for the IndianPremiere League. The client wanted to explore possibilities of live streaming cricket in Virtual Reality.

 

Research

Based on the brief, I started exploring how cricket is watched and presented on television and tried to identify the existing problems. I started studying the current formats and screen elements.

Problem statement

One of the problems identified was Watching sports on a digital medium often gets the screen populated with too much information and clutter. How might we enable and experience that is clutter free yet informative of stats and details?

Solution

Leveraging the possibilities of Virtual Reality,  utilise the virtual space around the user to display the various stats and other data, leaving the screen to only show the video feed.
