Nature Embedded

Nature Embedded is a Design Technology Experience consisting of fifteen different installations that range from the conventional calligraphy, expressive photography, tessellated murals and product installations, to the more unconventional and emerging medias that leverage ethnography, infographics, motion graphics and interactivity to convey life's myriad messages.

Creative Brief

Nature is the source of existence in this earth and whatever we have made draws inspiration from the nature.  Be it the designs that we have manifested or the systems that we have developed. But we often forget that the nature and the things we made should help each other out for the existence of life rather than one destructing in the other. To remind this thought the concept of nature embedded into the technologies we have made, is rendered in the NGMA exhibition as artworks timelines and Interactive Installations so that people can remember the nature in every technology that has been developed by humans. All the things we have got our derived from natural surroundings we live in and hence we must always be reminded of protecting them too.

Tasks

Thinking of the five interactive installations ensuring that they are ‘Play And Learn’ activities that help children understand the nature better or even make them understand that the nature is embedded in all the technology around us. They also try to bring a tangible and visually stimulating experience for the extent of human exploitations over the nature which is useful in imprinting long term memories. Through rounds of discussions and brainstorming, we refined our goals to show a non human point of view of the nature to the audience.

Finally the three installations we conceptualised were-

1} Points of view: Terrestrial, Underwater and Aerial.

From a holistic standpoint we can have three distinct points of view: Terrestrial, Underwater and Ariel. Now there are millions of species with unique points of view and how they see and perceive the nature. But to have a diverse yet more relatable and general visual experience, three specific species were taken into account, having three distinct visual point of view scenarios: Dog, Bird and Fish.

2} Day and Night: Understanding the daily rhythms of time, through an interactive hologram.

3} Origins of life: A tessellated view of underwater life forms through digital interactive floor tiles.
